Day fifteen

We had a good drive home on Thursday. There was only time for one stop off the Tioga Pass. It was a good time to stretch the legs and get some exercise. We got home before dark so we could clean up the RV. It was such an amazing adventure and great family bonding. THANK YOU JOHN for planning such a wonderful trip that we could all enjoy!!! We will never forget these two weeks!

Day fourteen

Yesterday we spent our day at the campsite on June Lake.  Alex, Lucas and Joe got up early to do some fishing. It was a beautiful day with wind here and there. The wind probably kept a lot of us out of the water but it was a well deserved rest day. Tomorrow we leave for home after the US/Germany game. We will have a stop or two since we are going  through Yosemite (Tioga Pass).

Day thirteen

Yesterday was a travel day.  But we still managed to see some cool stuff. We stocked up on fireworks from the famous "Area 51 Fireworks" store (near Las Vegas) where Joe and John Fliss traveled to a couple of years ago. Right before we arrived to our campsite, we made a stop at Mono Lake. We saw really cool rock formations called Tufa Towers. The campsite is very primitive but nice since it is on June Lake. Lucas, Alex and Nicho were itching to do some fishing as soon as we got here.

Day twelve

I woke up to a moving RV again this morning. Brad (Pork Chop rv) and Mark (Tofu rv) started our drive to Zion National Park, Utah. We made a nice stop at a little ranch where they had a 1-month old miniature pony. As we were standing there a herd of about 50 buffalo started walking towards the ranch. We think they came over for water. Great timing! It was about 3pm or so when we arrived to the RV Park. After eating a small lunch and hydrating (it was sooooooo hot today!), we started our walk to the shuttle to see the park. We took it to the last stop and did a nice hike. It included some river walking which was a nice refreshing surprise. The sites were again spectacular with very tall canyon walls and with a lot more vegetation than we have been seeing. Tonight Kurt and Oksana made a delicious dinner for all of us. Each couple is responsible for making one dinner meal. The guests vote for Presentation, Taste and Overall. So since  the Domine family is very competitive, we eat very well! We leave tomorrow morning for an 8-hour drive to Yosemite (June lake).

Day eleven

Today was adventure day in Moab. We got up early and first went ATV'ing in the canyons. Then we went white river rafting on the Colorado river. When that was all over we went to the main strip to watch US tie Portugal. Wish they could have held on to the win!! Brian and Lance made a great dinner for all of us back at camp. Thanks John for taking the pictures today! I was too scared to take my camera.
